Award Winning YA & Children's Books

A number of our newest books have just been named as award winners in Young Adult and Children's Literature.  Nick Lake's In Darkness, has won the 2013 Printz Award for Excellence in YA Literature.

On the Children's Lit side, the Caldecott Medal is the top honor for distinguished picture book.  Our collection includes award winner This Is Not My Hat, and honor books Creepy Carrots!, Extra Yarn, and One Cool Friend.

Look for the food drive boxes at our LRCs / Libraries and please donate canned or boxed food through November 19.

Native American Heritage Month

 

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, we are proud to support VGCC's “Native American Appreciation Day” scheduled for Monday, November 26 from 10 am - 1 pm in the VGCC Main Campus Civic Center. VGCC Library Services is presenting a book display for this event, as well as, a display at the Main Campus LRC / Library.
